ABOUT

Welcome to Plant Meets Paleo!

This website is dedicated to embracing bioindividuality --- a diet and lifestyle that works for one person may not work for another. In terms of dietary needs, we are all very different! Here you will find our explorations healthy living!

Oh, we forgot to introduce ourselves!

We are: best friends, gym buddies, running maniacs, health-freaks, and TOTAL foodies. We both love to cook, and go on some epic culinary adventures.

Crista sticks to mainly a Paleo diet, even though she loves sushi, In & Out and grilled cheese. Bacon is her saving grace, and she currently has a not-so-secret obsession with nutbutters. In her free time she likes to trail run, find different ways of standing on her head, and create new recipes in the kitchen. She is a recent graduate-- receiving her Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology. She hopes to pursue her Ph.D in Psychology and continue research on the benefits of being in nature on well-being. She blogs full time at Run. Eat. Create. Repeat-- her running and creativity blog. Plant Meets Paleo is her culinary-based solution to healthy living. She believes that the mind and body are inherently connected and living a balanced life includes a healthy diet.

Alexis follows an "Eat By Your Blood Type" Diet (blog post coming soon!). She is a certified Nutrition & Wellness Consultant, as well as a Holistic Health Coach.  She is a master baker-- finding various ways of baking brownies, cakes and cookies into healthy versions (without you ever knowing it). She is an epic multi-tasker. She loves running, and is a badass in the gym (she can do more than thirty push-ups in a row!). Her future goals include pursuing a Ph.D and helping others lead healthy and meaningful lives. Plant Meets Paleo is an outlet for her to explore her passions in healthy cooking and living.

Because we often make meals and dishes together, we have to get creative when it comes to food allergens.

It didn't take us long to realize that there was a HUGE overlap between both of our dietary lifestyles and needs. And healthy eating in general.

That nutritional overlap we like to call "Plant Meets Paleo".

Vegetables, fruits, nuts and berries.

Meat or no meat?

Soy or no soy?

Dairy or no dairy?

These options are a large dissection factor for many people's diets.

Plant Meets Paleo will bring you creative recipes, fun facts, and health tips revolving around avoiding or embracing some of these food groups. We believe that you can make food that is both clean AND healthy. Not to mention...delicious!

We are most excited about posting some of our sweet treat creations (that taste divine AND are good for you!) that will also fit snuggly into your dietary guidelines. Because, a person's gotta have something sweet every once in a while, right?!
